VoiceLah! processes your voice entirely on your Mac. We don't collect, store, or transmit your audio recordings or transcriptions. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to use optional AI enhancement features with your own API keys.
VoiceLah! is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect:
Audio is captured directly on your Mac and stored temporarily in local memory during recording. Once transcription is complete, audio data is immediately deleted.
Transcription is performed entirely on-device using the Whisper AI model. Your audio never leaves your Mac for transcription.
If you enable AI text correction or translation, your transcribed text may be sent to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, or Ollama) using your own API keys. We never see or store your API keys or the data you send to these services.
VoiceLah! supports optional integration with AI providers for text enhancement:
When you use these services with your own API keys, your data is subject to their respective privacy policies. VoiceLah! does not intermediate, log, or store any data exchanged with these services.
VoiceLah! stores the following data locally on your Mac:
All data remains on your device and is not synced to any cloud service.
VoiceLah! is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain information as described in their Privacy Policy. We do not have access to any personal information Apple may collect.
VoiceLah! is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
